My sophomore year in High School I qualified for the state finals in the high hurdles.  In training for that track meet, I had a run in with one of the hurdles (it won) and I was unable to compete in the state meet because of injury.

While the New Orleans Saints failed in making it to the Superbowl this year I was impressed by their coach, Sean Payton, and his aggressive mindset in the game against Philadelphia where they were behind.  His decisions gave them a victory and got them to the Conference Championship game.

As we give thanks for our blessings over the next few days, we also remember those who lost everything in the Paradise area. Our heart and our resources will be focused to support neighbors to the north through this coming Holiday Season.  C. S. Lewis said, "I do not believe one can settle how much we ought to give.
